AI is used in this practice as a tool under attorney supervision — not as a replacement for legal judgment. Its use adheres to the Minnesota Rules of Professional Conduct, and every use of it is governed by the same professional obligations that apply to every other aspect of this practice.
Confidentiality
Client information is protected before any AI tool is involved. Sensitive data is removed or isolated at the outset, and a secure environment is maintained throughout.
Attorney direction
AI works under attorney direction at every stage — locating information, identifying issues, suggesting language. Legal judgment remains the attorney's alone.
Attorney-drafted work product
Whatever the deliverable — a filing, contract, memo, or communication — the final document is drafted or substantially revised by the attorney. AI output is a starting point, not a finished product.
Verified accuracy
All AI output is reviewed, and citations and accuracy are confirmed before the final document is prepared. Nothing generated by AI reaches any recipient without attorney sign-off.
